Rep. Stan McClain (R-Ocala) sent a congratulatory message via Facebook after the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new commercial driver’s license training pad at Vanguard High School’s Booster Stadium.
"Congratulations to Marion Technical College and Marion County School Board on the new CDL driving pad!!! What a great addition to a wonderful program to help our students," he posted.
The pad will be used as part of the CDL program offered via Marion Technical College, which aims to assist adults over 18 years old to earn a license for commercial driving.
The pad offers a new, dedicated, safe area to drive and park large trucks.
“Every student has a gift and something to bring out to the world, and so we continue to create opportunities,” Marion County School Board superintendent Heidi Maier was quoted as saying on OcalaNews.com.
