City of Ocala issued the following announcement on November 7.
Update: Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Rescinded: 3750 to 4800 block between S Pine Ave. and SE 17th Ave.
The City of Ocala Water Resources officials have rescinded a Department of Health required Precautionary Boil Water Notice for customers in the 3750 to 4800 block between S Pine Ave. and SE 17th Ave. The original notice was released Friday due to possible contamination of drinking water due to a system malfunction at the City of Ocala’s Emergency Wellfield.
The City of Ocala Water Resources department advises that the water is now safe for brushing teeth, cooking, drinking, making ice, washing dishes, food preparation and other normal daily activities. The lines in the affected area were flushed and several samples were collected. Tests showed no sign of bacteria for two consecutive days and the chlorine residual meets regulatory standards.
