City of Ocala issued the following announcement on January 19.

'Monster Puppets' Exhibit Opens Thursday, Jan. 20

The exhibit Monster Puppets will begin Thursday, Jan. 20, 9 a.m. at the Barbara Gaskin Washington Adult Activity Center, 210 NW 12th Ave. The exhibit will be on display Thursday, Jan. 20 through Monday, March 28, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department hosts the annual Boo Bash at E.D. Croskey Recreation Center. This family-friendly Halloween event offers games, spooky activities, and plenty of candy. At the 2021 Boo Bash event, the Ocala Cultural Arts and Sciences Division worked with children to create “Make-Your-Own-Monster” puppets. Using popsicle sticks, googly eyes, markers, and pipe cleaners, kids created their own unique, and very spooky, monster puppets. This exhibit features a sample of these puppets, all with their own quirky personalities.
