City of Ocala issued the following announcement on January 21.

City of Ocala Reports a Spill of Public Access Reuse Water - Jan. 2022

The City of Ocala Water Resources Department experienced a spill of public access reuse water Friday, Jan. 21 which has been contained. This spill occurred at the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park, 2205 NW 21st St., and involved approximately 650,000 gallons of public access reuse water.

The water involved in the spill has been treated and presents no danger to the public or surrounding area. This spill was caused when a subsurface subsidence formed in Wetland Cell 3, which is slated for repair. Subsurface subsidence are anticipated components of the park due to the karst topography below ground. They present no danger to the public or the environment.
