Ocala International Airport Passes Federal Annual Certification Safety Inspection

The City of Ocala was notified that the Ocala International Airport-Jim Taylor Field passed its annual inspection conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The inspection, which took place Monday, Oct. 31 through Wednesday, Nov. 2 revealed the airport is being operated in compliance with 14 CFR part 139, the Airport Certification Manual and the Airport Operating Certificate, according to an official letter from the FAA Southern Region, Airports Division.

“During the inspection, an inspector with the FAA reviewed files that included training records, daily airfield inspection logs, fuel farm and truck compliance inspection logs, the Wildlife Management Plan, Airport Emergency Plan and the Airport Certification Manual,” said Matt Grow, Director, Ocala International Airport. “The inspector also conducted a thorough day and night inspection of the airfield, looking for lighting outages, cracks or other pavement failures, ponding, safety area obstructions and other things that may pose hazards to aircraft. Insert inspection of airport rescue and firefighting facilities and equipment/timed exercise details.”
