Notice of accepting applications for vacancies on Volunteer Advisory Boards

NOTICE OF ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
FOR VACANCIES ON VOLUNTEER ADVISORY BOARDS
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners currently has vacancies on the following volunteer boards:
1. Industrial Development Authority
(2 Full Members/Full Term)
Applicants must be electors and residents of Marion County.
Responsibilities: Consider industrial and manufacturing projects with appurtenant facilities and determine the appropriateness of financing such projects through the issuance of industrial development boards Ordinance.
2. Land Development Regulation Commission
(1 Alternate Member/Unexpired Term)
Members must be residents of Marion County. Applicants must be qualified electors in Marion County. Members should be representative of the technical fields related to land development regulations, including the ability to evaluate and recommend specific regulatory standards and criteria. The areas of planning, environmental science, agriculture, and the development industry will be considered in appointing members.
Responsibilities: Make recommendations to the Marion County Board of County Commissioners regarding proposed changes to the Land Development Code.
3. Pine Run MSTU Advisory Council
(1 Full Member/Full Term)
Members must be residents of Pine Run MSTU.
Responsibilities: May participate in preparation of annual budget, review and comment on programs, activities, operations, goals, and objectives of the district and make recommendations on these and other issues to the BCC.
4. Rainbow Lakes Estates Advisory Committee
(1 Full Member/Full Term)
Applicants must be registered electors residing in within the Rainbow Lakes Estates Municipal Service District.
Responsibilities: May participate in preparation of annual budget request; review and comment on programs, activities, goals and objectives and make recommendations on these and other issues as directed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Applications for said vacancies may be obtained at the Marion County Board of County Commissioners’ Office located at 601 S.E. 25th Ave., Ocala, Florida; online at www.marionfl.org or by calling 352-438-2323.
The deadline for receiving applications is September 8, 2022 at 5 p.m. The Marion County Board of County Commissioners plans to appoint members on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 or as soon thereafter as possible.
