As school begins this school year we are excited to announce that Silver Springs Community Center is ready to keep our kids involved and active! The center is focused on providing Marion County with quality programming for the Marion County community. Check out some of the programs and activities coming up this fall:
One program being offered is Homeschool P.E./S.T.E.A.M program. This program occurs every Tuesday and runs continuously throughout the school year. As the program begins, children will be introduced to a variety of physical activities designed to help them improve motor skills and fitness levels.
This interaction helps to foster peer relationships and promote self-confidence. Activities include cooperative games, archery, fishing, team water sports, field games, team sports, general motor skills building, swimming, and various fitness concepts. Once each class is completed, all children are welcomed to stay and swim in the Community Center’s heated pool.
Cost
$15/month (4 classes).

Another program offered is the Discovery Archery Class! This class is designed to help children and teenagers develop confidence with a bow and arrow. This helps to promote exercise, boost self-confidence, and develop friendships. The staff have designed this unique program for any skill level. This program includes introduction to the sport, basic skills and drills, and unique 3D target shooting opportunities for children and teens. The program includes all equipment and explains the 11 steps of shooting with safety.
Throughout the classes, students will experience various target shooting challenges, including archery golf, a shooting gallery, target paint balloons, shooting for distance, and shooting for pizza. Participants will also experience an introduction to the crossbow and pistol bow. Each class offers a different shooting experience that is fun and challenging.

Starting dates
Session I-September 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th at 5:00pm.
Session II- October 4th, 11th, 18th and 25nd at 5:00pm.
