Notice of public hearing to discuss intent to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments 10 a.m. | Dec. 6, or as soon thereafter as possible

NOTICE OF INTENTTO USE THE UNIFORM METHODOF COLLECTION OF NON-ADVALOREM ASSESSMENTS

The Board of County Commissioners of Marion County, Florida, intends to use the uniform method for collecting non-ad valorem assessments within the below-listed assessment areas as set forth in section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, and the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on December 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the McPherson Governmental Campus Auditorium located at 601 SE 25th Avenue, Ocala, Florida. 

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the adoption of resolutions authorizing the Board of County Commissioners to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments within the below-listed assessment areas as provided in section 197.3632, Florida Statutes. Such resolutions will state the need for the levy and will contain a legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the levy. 

The Board of County Commissioners is considering adopting a non-ad valorem assessment for one or more of the following purposes: road and drainage improvements, street lighting and municipal services, fire rescue services, residential solid waste and stormwater program, and maintenance services, facilities, and programs. 

Interested parties may appear at the public hearing to be heard regarding the use of the uniform ad valorem method of collecting such non-ad valorem assessments.
